Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we are asked most often, before and after a first consultation. Where an answer depends on the assessment, the text says so rather than guessing.
- In which language are sessions held?
Sessions are held in English or in Albanian, whichever suits the child or adult being treated. Tell us which you would prefer when you get in touch, and the assessment and treatment plan follow in that language.
- When should I consult a speech therapist?
When a child speaks less than expected for their age, when their pronunciation is not understood by others, when they stutter, when they do not respond to spoken language, or when difficulties appear in reading, writing and arithmetic. In adults, the most common reasons are stuttering and speech difficulties following a neurological injury. When you are not sure, an initial assessment is where everything starts.
- Where is ORATIO Speech Clinic located?
The clinic is at 16 Elena Gjika, Ferizaj 70000, Kosovo. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 10:00 – 20:00. For directions or to arrange an appointment, call +383 48 333 465.
View on Google Maps- What happens at the first consultation?
The first consultation is, above all, a conversation: we listen to your concern, gather the necessary background on development and history, and establish the first steps towards a speech and language assessment.
- From what age are services offered?
The clinic works with both children and adults. For speech and language development difficulties, early intervention is the professionally recommended practice, so an assessment is never premature.
- What is treated at ORATIO?
Stuttering, speech and language delay, articulation disorders (dyslalia), hypernasal speech (rhinolalia), aphasia and dysphasia, selective mutism, speech and language in autism, absence of speech (alalia), rehabilitation after a cochlear implant, learning difficulties (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), and speech and language in Down syndrome.
- Is the clinic licensed?
Yes. ORATIO Speech Clinic is licensed by the Ministry of Health to practise speech and language therapy. Festë Beqa is licensed for therapeutic services in the field of language and speech, certified in the ABA method, and licensed in Professor Kaçka's holistic method (HMK) for the treatment of stuttering.
- How long does treatment last?
The duration follows from the assessment: the nature of the difficulty, the person's age and their own rhythm determine the plan. For that reason, objectives and session frequency are set after the assessment, not before it.
- How do I book an appointment?
Call +383 48 333 465 or send a WhatsApp message and we will arrange a time for the first consultation together. The clinic is open Monday to Saturday, 10:00 – 20:00.
